Dewatering and Sedimentation Control Resources.

To complement our deep trenching capabilities Ching Contracting have recently invested in well point dewatering equipment and have constructed a purpose built, portable sedimentation container. Our well pointing equipment and sediment control container have recently been successfully used on two Tasman District Council contracts where deep pipelines have had to be installed in ground conditions consisting of pure sand and below the groundwater table.

The well points are quickly and easy 'blown in' by hand down into sandy ground by pumping water down through the spears as they are pushed in.
Once driven into position each well point, or spear, is connected to a main manifold which is in turn connected to our 6 inch Selwood QS pump. The main manifold can be configured in a number of ways to suit the task whether it be installaing a chamber or pipeline.

The discharge from the pump can then, if necessary, be connected to our portable sediment container which has interconnected internal compartments that allow suspended particales to settle out and collect in the bin providing a cleaner, clearer discharge to the final disposal system.

This new dewatering equipment has given us the ability to construct pipelines that were previously either extremely difficult or impossible with install with straight pumping dewatering methods.

The development of our sedimentation container has given us an efficient and portable means of treating smaller volumes of dewatering flows in locations where more traditional methods are not practical..

The system allows us to achieve discharge quality standards of any resource consents that me be in place and provide a cleaner discharge to the local environment
